Elementary earned their first Gold Coin party! They celebrated today with recess at the park!
8th graders took a trip to USD today for careers class. They got to meet with admissions counselors, take a walking tour of the campus, and got to meet with a career coach! Go Yotes!
This morning the South Dakota Humanities Council presented each of our Third Graders with the 2025 Young Readers One Book, Wings of an Eagle: The Gold Medal Dreams of Billy Mills. Written by Billy Mills and Donna Janell Bowman and illustrated by S.D. Nelson. We hope the students enjoy this literary adventure!

Today, First Grade enjoyed International Dot Day, which celebrates creativity, courage, and collaboration as inspired by Peter H. Reynolds book "The Dot." People are encouraged to participate by making their own creative marks through writing, drawing, painting, and other artistic activities such as creating 3D structures. I enjoyed seeing these little engineers in action!
The Avon school would like to give a big Shout Out to the Knights of Columbus for their donation of $340. The Tootsie Roll Drive is an annual Knights of Columbus fundraiser where members offer Tootsie Rolls in exchange for donations to support individuals with intellectual and development disabilities. Your support of our Special Pirates is greatly appreciated!
