I heard it through the grapevine that the K-5 students did a terrific job of singing the history of Rock and Roll. You definitely had Mr. Kuhlman tapping his toes! I'm ready to put another dime in the jukebox. Thanks to Mrs. Schultz and Mr. Sexe for putting on a fantastic show.

Nationwide, cell phone usage in schools has become a hot topic. According to the AP At least eight states — California, Florida, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Ohio, South Carolina and Virginia — have enacted measures banning or restricting students’ use of cellphones in schools. In light of these policies and with the high probability this issue could be brought up in Pierre next spring, I am asking you to take a quick survey shown below on the use of cell phones during school hours. There is a comment box, so your input is greatly valued. Thanks for your participation! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NCVTNLH

The senior government class spent the day in Springfield learning about local government. The local Legions and VFW hosted snack breaks and lunch. The students listened to former Representative Jean Hunhoff about local and state government. Mayor Scott Kostal from Springfield talked about local government types and different political boundaries found in the county. They also learned about why and how the legion poppies are made. How the voting process works. Brigette Muller and Amanda Larson talked about their roles on the local school boards. And Kelly Namminga gave a presentation about information literacy. The whole day revolved around citizen involvement in government.
