The Boy's Basketball Team will play Freeman Academy - Marion on Saturday, February 17 in Scotland at 12:30 pm at the Great Plains Conference Tournament.

The Avon School Board voted to amend the 23-24 school calendar at yesterday’s board meeting. The first three snow days will be made up on Tuesday, May 14, Wednesday, May 15, and Thursday, May 16. The fourth snow day will not be made up at this time unless Avon would have more snow days this winter or spring. Therefore, Friday, February 23 will remain a NO SCHOOL day, so students, staff, and parents can attend the State Wrestling Tourney in Sioux Falls.

The Avon School District has joined districts across the state to thank school board members for their leadership and service to our school and community during School Board Recognition Week! Thank you to Bridgette Muller, Joe Sees, David Ratzlaff, Jeff Tolsma, and Craig Vanderlei for their dedication to our children and our community!

Great job tonight performing the National Anthem by our 3rd and 4th graders directed by Mrs. Schultz. The 3rd graders sang while the 4th graders played their ukuleles. Amazing job!

Anyone who wants to order a yearbook for this school year, please bring payment to the business office as soon as possible. Yearbooks are $35. Only a handful of orders have been received. A few yearbooks from the 22-23 school year are still available for $35. Stop in the office.

Are you interested in 4-H, but you aren’t sure what the program all entails? The Bon Homme County 4-H Jr Leaders will be hosting Family Fun Night at the 4-H Center in Tyndall (1910 Birch St.) on Monday, February 19th at 6:30 pm. Shooting Sports, Rabbit & Poultry, Horse, Livestock and Craft Exhibits, and what Junior Leaders entail will be highlighted. We will also have a short information presentation for parents so they can get a better understanding of what the 4-H program has to offer. This is open to all youth ages 5-18 years of age.

AHS Drama Club performed at the SD State One Act Festival in Brandon, SD this morning. We received wonderful feedback in our critique session and had a valuable learning experience. Avon was awarded as a Superior Play and earned Superior Ensemble awards for our entire cast! Congratulations on a great performance!
