Physics students enjoyed their day at Worlds of Fun learning about the real world of physics. A great group of kids. They were excellent representatives of our school and community. Thanks to our bus driver, April and WOF alumni Dennis, for accompanying us on the trip. Mr. Kuhlman has an appointment with the chiropractor tomorrow!

Great opportunity for these students to attend the Educators Rising program at USD. They had a chance to listen to the National Teacher of the Year. In the future, I hope to see them leading their own classroom!

Third grade had some shocking education today! Members from B-Y Electric came to our room and did a presentation for us about the different kinds of natural and man-made electricity. We learned about how electricity flows and how to stay safe around power lines. Look for more in an upcoming issue of the Clarion.

The third graders have been learning so much in all their classes. They have discussed the adaptations of living things in science class (including why tree leaves turn different colors in the fall.) Mr.Poppe has been teaching third graders the ins and outs of Microsoft Word. We also studied different types of poetry in reading class. All this newfound knowledge came together in art class today. Each student wrote, typed, and printed a Fall Cinquain about their favorite part of fall. We used rubber leaf stamps and markers to make leaf prints in art class to accompany the poems. Here are a few examples.

17 fifth and sixth grade students took a field trip to Sioux Falls to celebrate a reading challenge they completed this summer. They went on a tour of the store, picked up their free book and Starbucks drink, and then had lunch and some free time at the park. Beautiful day for books and coffee! Thanks to Mrs. Haenfler for organizing this for our students!
